The Humble Space office was designed with the intention of providing a quiet and relaxed atmosphere for its users. Unlike traditional formal office spaces, this design aims to blur the line between work and life, creating a space where work becomes an integral part of one's lifestyle. The designers wanted to offer users an environment that would inspire them to experience life fully and, in turn, produce better designs.
One of the key features of the Humble Space office is its emphasis on natural light. The external facade was treated by removing all unnecessary elements, allowing natural light to flood the interior. Floor-to-ceiling glass windows and a block-shaped facade maximize the entry of natural light, reducing the need for artificial lighting. This not only creates a visually appealing space but also allows users to experience the changing daylight, enhancing their connection with the outside world.
The office covers a total area of 125 square meters and is divided into public and private areas. The public area serves as a space for visitor reception, exchange of ideas, and internal company meetings. The private area is designed for individual work and relaxation. The seamless integration of these areas ensures a versatile and functional workspace.
The Humble Space office design incorporates elements of wabi-sabi, a Japanese aesthetic that celebrates imperfection and simplicity. The seemingly rough wall paint and artistic wall hangings add depth and character to the space, creating a modern interpretation of traditional design principles. The office also provides amenities such as music and tea, allowing users to relax and rejuvenate during their workday.
The project, which started in May 2019 and was completed in July 2019, was a result of meticulous research and attention to detail. The designers aimed to achieve the ultimate minimalistic design, focusing on structure, layout, and form. By embracing the philosophy of "less is more," they created a space that exudes elegance and sophistication.
The Humble Space office design by De Weng has received recognition for its outstanding creativity and ingenuity. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2020. This prestigious award acknowledges designs that incorporate best practices in art, science, design, and technology, contributing to improvements in quality of life.
The Humble Space office design is a testament to the power of simplicity and tranquility in creating a productive and inspiring work environment. By prioritizing the well-being and comfort of its users, this design sets a new standard for office spaces, blurring the boundaries between work and life.
